Bamboo removal · Buckinghamshire

Bamboo in Buckinghamshire gardens

Many Buckinghamshire homes have generous gardens, and bamboo planted years ago as a screen or a feature can spread a long way before anyone notices. New canes come up in borders and under hedges well away from the original clump.

We cover Buckinghamshire, from Milton Keynes and Aylesbury in the north to the Chiltern towns and the Thames at Marlow.

Ground conditions in Buckinghamshire

The Chiltern Hills are chalk with plenty of flint, and the Vale of Aylesbury is mostly clay. Flint makes hand digging and screening slower, and clay can be heavy in wet weather, so we look at the ground and the access at the survey before we fix a price.

Towns we cover in Buckinghamshire

  • High Wycombe
  • Aylesbury
  • Amersham
  • Beaconsfield
  • Gerrards Cross
  • Marlow
  • Chesham
  • Princes Risborough
  • Buckingham
  • Milton Keynes

Coming from next door?

Bamboo does not stop at the fence

Running bamboo sends rhizomes under fences and gravel boards, and a dense root mat can build up along the boundary. We dig out what has come through and can fit a root barrier along the boundary to help stop it coming back.

Short 3D clips from our Instagram reels. Most of a running bamboo is out of sight, which is why we dig out the rhizomes, not just the canes.

FAQ

Questions from Buckinghamshire

Straight answers. Anything else, just ask.

Do you cover my town in Buckinghamshire?

We work across Buckinghamshire, including High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Amersham, Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross, Marlow, Chesham and Princes Risborough. Send your postcode with your enquiry and we will confirm.

The bamboo has spread under a hedge. Can you remove it without losing the hedge?

Sometimes. It depends on how tangled the rhizomes are with the hedge roots. We will look at it at the free survey and explain what can be kept.

Is the survey really free?

Yes. We visit in person, identify the species and send you a written report with photos and a fixed price quotation, with no obligation. Formal CSJK (Certified Surveyor of Japanese Knotweed) survey reports, which confirm whether invasive plants are present (for example for a property sale or mortgage), are £240 (£200 + VAT).

The bamboo is coming from next door. What can you do?

First, we'll come round for a free survey and give you a report you can share with your neighbours to get things started. Then we can quote for two options: defending your boundary with a root barrier on your side, or working across the boundary to remove the bamboo at the source, if your neighbours give permission.

Are your prices fixed?

Yes. Quotations are fixed price, plus VAT, with no hidden fees or subscriptions.

How do you keep your prices competitive?

We are a lean, owner-led team with no national overheads or call centres. Your site is surveyed in person by a qualified surveyor, we use recognised methods, and every job comes with a written guarantee and management plan. Every quote is fixed, plus VAT, after a free survey.
